Start at app.leadmenot.org
On Chromebook, you create your account and set everything up in the browser first. The app is where you sign in afterwards. Open app.leadmenot.org and click Create an account.
Already have a LeadMeNot account from your phone? Skip to the download step: sign in to the app with the same account.

Pick the change you want to make
Choose the area you want to work on first, then click Continue. You can add more later.

Tell us why
Pick the reason behind the change. We show it back to you as My Why.

Choose how you want to be protected
This is the most important choice. Blocker & Monitor blocks content and tells your partner. It's what most people want.
Blocking only: things are blocked, but setup won't ask for a partner and nobody is told. Monitoring only: your partner is told, but nothing is blocked.

Create your account
Enter your name, email and a password and click Sign up, or use Continue with Google.
Remember which one you used. Signing in a different way later creates a new, empty account.

Did a church, ministry, school or group give you a code?
A code replaces the plan screen. Enter it before paying for anything.

Click Enter Promo Code
At the bottom of the Plans screen, click Enter Promo Code.

Type your code and Apply
Type the code exactly as it was given to you and click Apply code. Your organization's plan is applied and there's no payment.
Code not working? Check for typos, then email jason@leadmenot.org with the code and your organization's name.

Pick a plan
Choose 1 device or Unlimited devices at the top, then Monthly, Yearly or Lifetime. The Yearly plan has a 3-day free trial switch. Click Subscribe & Get Instant Access.

Set up the Blocker
Click Continue next to Setup Blocker.

Switch on what you want blocked
Turn on Adult Websites & Apps, Digital Gambling, Uninstall Protection and Device Restart Protection as you need them, then click Next.
Every switch here starts off except the first. Device Restart Protection applies to Android only.

Choose what you see instead
Pick what appears when something is blocked: a blank screen, a 2-minute breathing exercise, or a quote. Click Next.

Choose your Safe Wall
Guarded Mode (Make me wait) adds a countdown before any change to your protection. Pick the wait time and click Next.
The wait applies to everything, even fixing a rule you just made.
Want your partner to approve changes instead (Fortress Mode)? You can switch to it in the app under You › Safe Wall once you've added a partner.

Add your partner and set up Monitor
If you chose Blocker & Monitor or Monitoring, you'll also be asked to Add Accountability Partner and Setup Monitor. Click Continue.

Enter your partner's name and email
They get an email inviting them to join you. Click Add Partner.
You can add more partners later in the app's You section.

You're all set: download the app
Click Download LeadMeNot and pick your device. That takes you to the installer, or the Chrome Web Store for Chromebook.

Add the extension
Open LeadMeNot for Chromebook in the Chrome Web Store and click Add to Chrome. Then click the puzzle-piece icon next to the address bar and pin LeadMeNot.

Sign in with your existing account
Click the LeadMeNot icon and sign in the same way as on your phone: email, Google or Apple. Your rules and partner come with you.
New to LeadMeNot? Click Create an account.

Allow Incognito access
Chrome can't let extensions see Incognito windows unless you allow it, so LeadMeNot asks. Click Open extension settings.
Skip this and Incognito windows aren't protected.

Turn on Allow in Incognito
On the extension's details page, switch on Allow in Incognito. Chrome restarts the extension. Open LeadMeNot again and click I've enabled it — check again.

Check Blocker and Monitor are Active
The main screen shows both. Switch on Block for Adult Websites and Gambling under Standard Rules, and Monitor if your partner should hear about them.

If you added a partner during web setup, skip ahead. Otherwise add one now.

Click the person icon in the top right, then Partner.

Click Add partner
Your partners are listed here. The selected radio button is your primary partner, who gets Safe Wall requests. Click + Add partner.

Enter their name and email
Fill in their name and email and click Add partner. They get an invitation by email.
The phone number is optional.

What your partner gets
Alerts when you hit a monitored rule, your evening reflections, and approval requests if your Safe Wall needs their OK.

Pick Partner approval or Make me wait
Partner approval: protected changes need your partner's sign-off. Make me wait: they apply after a countdown. Click Save SafeWall settings.

Pick the wait time, then save.

Click Add Rule
On the main screen, click + Add Rule in the bottom right.

Website rule: type the sites
Enter one or more websites, like x.com, reddit.com. Pick an Intervention (what you see instead) and click Create rule.

Blank screen, an inspiring quote, a picture of your choice, or a two-minute breathing exercise.

Keyword rule: type the words
Enter words separated by commas, like poker, free bets. Pick an intervention and click Create rule.
Blocking and monitoring for your rules follow the global Blocker and Monitor switches on the main screen.

Chapter 10 of 11 · Make sure it works
Test it: type leadmenottest
Open Chrome, type leadmenottest into the address bar and go. If LeadMeNot blocks the page, everything is working.
Not blocked? Check the extension is switched on at chrome://extensions, you're signed in, and Adult blocking is on. For Incognito, Allow in Incognito must be on too.
The test only works while blocking is on, for example with Adult Websites & Apps switched on.

Make me wait: start the timer
Switching off starts a countdown. Protection stays on until it finishes. Click Start the timer.

Pending Requests
The request and its countdown are listed at the bottom of the main screen. Click Cancel request to keep things as they are.
